Elizabeth Matthews is an American-Irish Artist living in the Paris and Dublin areas. Awarded a PhD in Fine Art by the National University of Ireland, Galway, in association with the Burren College of Art, Matthews also holds a BFA in painting from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, and has completed studies at Syracuse University College of Art, and the Corcoran Museum School Washington DC. Matthews has received a numerous awards such as cash awards via the Michael Greene Memorial Endowment in Clare Ireland, and residencies at the Royal Hybernian Academy in Dublin, the Royal College of Art in London, NACADs in Brooklyn, a Solo Exhibition awarded by Iniscaeltra Festival of the Arts in Clare, Ireland, Outstanding Graduate Nominations from UL at Lafayette, LA and inclusion in numerous juried exhibitions. Matthews exhibits work internationally and can be found in private collections in the US, the UK, Ireland and France. She currently works on commissioned paintings, as well as thematic paintings for an international arts audience.
